RSb Letter
An RSb letter (return receipt letter b) is an official document that must be served with proof of delivery. Unlike the RSa letter, an RSb letter may also be handed to authorised representatives or co-residents. Receipt is confirmed by a signature on the return receipt.
Explanation
RSb letters are used by authorities and courts when proof of delivery is required but personal handover to the recipient is not necessary. Typical contents are tax assessments, payment demands and official communications. Service may be made to any person present at the place of delivery who is willing to accept it. Where a postal power of attorney has been deposited, authorised representatives may also accept RSb letters. Service is deemed effected upon handover.
